My name is Chris Hopkins and I've had the great honour of being asked to take the chairmanship of this region’s roofing training group, which I accepted from May 8th 2007.

Firstly I’d like to say a big thank you to Geoff Neale who has done an excellent job over the last 2 years and put a lot of time and effort into getting the training group to where it is today, well done Geoff!!

It will be my aim to build on what the group has already achieved and to increase access to all aspects of roof training, heritage training, roofing skills, and to look for new ideas and innovation in the industry.

I personally have a strong interest in green eco roofs and solar roofs and I am currently working with Kevin Taylor of the NFRC to design, deliver and pilot a solar training course for roofers.
